questions (and answers):
questions (and answers):
8. Have you ever done something together like working to complete a chore at work or school, shoveled snow or mowed a lawn, painted a room, or combined your monies to buy something? (this should be answered yes)
11. Do you love him less after a scrap or continue to love him just as much? (yes again, on the second part of course)
17. Are you uncomfortable being alone at night if he has to work or go out of town on business or goes bowling with the boys or must train for two weeks during the Summer with his military or naval service unit? (ah, trick question! This one should be answered with a "no")
22. Do you retain leftovers from your meals, know how to prepare them attractively? (this is to be answered yes -- and remember, you may not have had a home microwave in 1970!)

It is really quite fascinating!

Ah, the halcyon days of youth when one could discover if they were ready for marriage by reading a comic. I note that the boys weren't offered a similar quiz in the super-hero or war comics.
ReplyDelete"A panel of marriage counsellors and psychologists"? Hmmm, I wonder who they were -- or if they really existed at all. DC's resident psychologist William Moulton Marston was long gone -- though whether you'd actually want him advising you on marriage is open to debate. :)
that is awesome, and I'm so glad I wasn't the only nerd who liked romance comics... :D LOL!
ReplyDeletea'hem. Oh, hi, Jacque. Anne sent me... :o| <3
I would add: Are you naturally attracted to bad-boy losers who need a Mama to fix and clean them up, despite such a project being doomed to failure ? (if yes, STOP. Marriage not recommended)
ReplyDeleteAllan: Though boys weren't given this advice so directly, I am guessing "advice" on how to conduct relationships with women popped up in other ways in the comics.
ReplyDeleteLTM: Thank you to Anne for sending you this way! Don't worry -- you are never alone when it comes to being a fan of romance comics!!!
Lysdexicuss: Everyone definitely has different ideas of an ideal mate!
Jacque: It's like Groucho Marx said: "I wouldn't join a Club that would have me as a member."
ReplyDeleteAt least, if I was a Dame, I wouldn't marry me !!
